No heat right now? (320) 400-0991
A geothermal system has two halves — the heat pump indoors and the loop in the ground. Most people are told it is the expensive one. We find out which it actually is.
The unit runs but the house does not get there. Could be refrigerant, the reversing valve, a failed compressor stage, or flow through the loop.
Your backup electric heat carrying the load is the most expensive way to heat a house. It usually means the heat pump is not keeping up, and that is a fault, not a setting.
Low loop pressure, or glycol weeping around the unit. Worth catching early — a loop that runs dry damages the heat pump.
Rattling, hard starts, or cycling every few minutes. These are early warnings that get cheaper to fix the sooner you call.
WaterFurnace, Econar and ClimateMaster all report faults differently. Tell us the code when you call and we can often bring the part with us.

It depends on whether the fault is in the heat pump or the loop, and which part has failed. You get an upfront price before any work starts, and you approve it first.
Almost always, yes. Aux heat is electric backup and it is expensive to run. If it is carrying the load in normal weather, the heat pump is not doing its job and that is worth diagnosing.
Yes, and on systems we did not install. Tell us the make and any error code when you call.
That is the first thing we establish, and it matters enormously — they are very different repairs. We check flow and pressure through the loop as well as the heat pump itself.
Most faults are repairs. Ground loops in particular tend to outlast the equipment indoors. We will tell you straight if replacement genuinely is the better spend.
